Chess Overview

Tournament Format — Events use a Swiss-style format. Players compete across multiple rounds, with pairings based on results.
Continued Play — Players remain in the tournament after a loss. The number of rounds is announced before registration.
Time Control — Each tournament specifies the time allotted per player and any increment or delay.
Standings & Winners — Players earn 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Final standings determine the winners, with announced tiebreakers used when necessary.
Divisions — Recreational and Competitive divisions may be offered based on registration and playing experience.
Equipment — Each event listing specifies whether boards, pieces, and chess clocks are provided or must be brought by players.
Player Conduct — Outside assistance, chess engines, and unauthorized device use are prohibited during games.

Pool Play Format — Matches follow a Single Game to 11 points format. Teams must win by 2 points. Strict scoring cap at 15 points to maintain court schedules.
3-Game Minimum — Every registered team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games during pool play.
Playoff Bracket — The top two advancing teams from each pool enter a Single-Elimination playoff bracket. Playoff matches follow a Best 2-out-of-3 sets format. Sets are played to 11 points (win by 2, no point cap).
Game Balls — Designated pickleballs are provided matching age-group specifications.

Game Balls — Designated soccer balls are provided matching age-group specifications.

Game Format — Games are scheduled for 5 innings with a 60-minute time limit. No new inning begins after 60 minutes. Any inning already underway is completed as needed to determine the result.
Gameplay & Ball Size — Each tournament specifies its pitching format and ball size. Options include 12-inch slow-pitch or fast-pitch and 16-inch slow-pitch softball.
2-Game Minimum — Every registered team is guaranteed at least 2 games. Teams that lose their first game play a consolation game.
Tournament Bracket — Teams compete in a single-elimination championship bracket. A loss eliminates a team from championship contention. Consolation games do not provide a path back into the championship bracket.
Championship Games — Games follow the same inning and time limits, with tiebreaker innings played when necessary to determine a winner.
Team Format — Player counts and defensive positions follow the selected format. Recreational and Competitive divisions, including co-ed, men’s, and women’s options, vary by tournament.
Game Balls — E&E Athletics provides the designated softballs for each tournament.
Equipment — Players must provide approved bats, appropriate athletic footwear, and gloves where applicable. Equipment requirements are listed for each tournament.
